This is the transcript for Season 1, Episode 1A, Ruby's Piano Practice.

Transcript

• Max: (The title card appears.) Ruby's Piano Practice. (The episode starts at the piano. Max is on the couch, looking bored. He flops around on the couch. Ruby then comes in with a music sheet. Max then comes off the couch and looks at Ruby.)
• Ruby: The school concert is tomorrow, Max. And I get to play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
• Max: Firetruck!
• Ruby: I don't know where your firetruck is, Max. Ahem-hem. (Ruby starts to sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.) Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are. Practice makes perfect, Max! You go play with your toys, while I practice.
• Max: Fire truck!
• Ruby: You lost your fire truck, Max. You will have to play with something else. (Max walks away.) Now, let's see. Twinkle, twinkle, little star... (the scene then cuts to Max's toys. A toy motorcycle knocks them over. Max walks in and picks up his toy spider, which lands on the ceiling. The scene then goes back to Ruby sitting on the piano stool, her sheet music up.)
• Ruby: And our next musician will be Ruby! Playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. (Ruby ruffles her dress, cracks her fingers, and then gets ready to play the piano.) Hmm... (Ruby gets off the stool and freshens the stool.) Perfect! (Ruby then goes to play the piano, but then realizes she's forgetting something.) Hm... (Ruby goes over and starts the metronome. Ruby gets back on the stool.) And a one and two… (Ruby then starts playing the first few notes of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star before she is interrupted.)
• Max: Fire truck!
• Ruby: What is it, Max?
• Max: Fire truck!
• Ruby: I don't know where your fire truck is, Max! (Max then has a smirk on his face.) You'll have to play with your lobster instead. (Ruby then starts humming Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Max follows her as they walk away. The scene then cuts to Max's toys again.)
• Ruby: Here's your lobster, Max! Let's wind him up. (Ruby then winds up Max's toy lobster. The lobster then goes off.) I have to practice for my concert tomorrow, Max. (Ruby leaves the room. The lobster then goes out the window. Max then has a smirk on his face again and leaves the room. The scene goes back to Ruby and the piano.)
• Ruby: At last! I don't have much time and this has got to be just right! And a one and... (Ruby then starts playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star again when suddenly, she is interrupted.)
• Max: Fire truck!
• Ruby: What's the matter, Max?
• Max: Fire truck!
• Ruby: I know what we should do! Let's get you some lunch! You can even make it yourself. (Ruby and Max walk away. The scene then cuts to the kitchen. Max is sitting down. Ruby brings him peanut butter, lettuce, and bread.)
• Ruby: Here's the peanut butter, and here's the lettuce, and here's the bread, Max. Make you own sandwich, Max, I have to practice! (Ruby walks away. Max has another smirk on his face. He puts peanut butter on one slice of bread, and a piece of lettuce on the other slice. Max hears a boing and has another smirk. He walks away and comes back with his spider. Max smirks and puts his toy on the slice of bread with lettuce. He then makes a peanut butter and lettuce sandwich with his spider in it. Max looks satisfied and leaves the room. The scene goes back to Ruby and the piano.)
• Ruby: And a one and... (Ruby once again starts playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and is interrupted for the third time.)
• Max: Fire truck!
• Ruby: What is it this time, Max?
• Max: Fire truck.
• Ruby: You finished your lunch. Now you can play outside all by yourself. (Ruby and Max leave the room. The scene then cuts to the backyard, where Ruby is hosing a mud puddle. She turns off the hose. She then takes Max's toy submarine.)
• Ruby: You can even play in the mud with your Deep Diver Submarine! (Ruby turns on the submarine and puts it in the mud. It then sinks in the mud.) Look at it dive in the mud, Max! Where's it going? (Max then walks in the mud. Max tries to look for it.) You know where to find me, Max! (Max is still trying to look for his submarine in the mud. The scene goes back to the piano.)
• Ruby: Now, without any further delay, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. (Ruby ruffles her dress and cracks her fingers again. She starts playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, but when she plays the last note, a siren can be heard.) What's that? (She plays the same note again, which triggers the siren. Ruby then opens the piano to investigate and pulls out Max's fire truck. Ruby looks relieved. Max walks in, muddy from looking for his toy submarine.)
• Max: Fire truck!
• Ruby: Max, you're all muddy!
• (Ruby gives Max his fire truck. He turns it on and watches it spin around himself.)
• Max: Fire truck!
